KNOCKLYON PARISH JUBILEE CELEBRATION
St. Colmcille’s Parish celebrates its jubilee this year. 1974 marked the pivotal year of the birth of what we now know as Knocklyon St Colmcille’s Parish.
Many events took place in the parish to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the year of formation of St. Colmcille’s Parish, Knocklyon.
The Junior School children took part in the Jubilee celebrations with the 1st class children writing a poem to celebrate Knocklyon’s birthday, which coincided with National Poetry Day on April 25th. 2nd Classes took part in a Gaelic Football Blitz in June with neighboring school Gaelscoil Cnoc Liamhna, Art pieces were created in the classrooms.
