A letter from the Parents Association

6 October 2023

Dear Parents,

The Parents Association are delighted to be back organizing events for the new school year. We had a very successful Junior Infants coffee morning where parents were able to meet other parents from their child’s class. For some parents it was their first child starting school so we would like to welcome them to the school.

Since the last letter in March 23, we have organised several events, including 3 confirmation receptions and 7 communion receptions. It is great that these are happening again as they were missed during covid. We also held a coffee morning in June for the parents of 6th class which was a lovely way for parent to say goodbye to their fellow parents.

We will shortly be holding our AGM, this is an opportunity for all parents to come along and find out more about the PA and also to meet some other parents. We are always looking for new people to help with the different events so if you can help we would love to hear from you. This year we will also be looking for some people to join the PA committee as some of the committee members are stepping down.  The current Committee consists of Lorraine Reynolds(Chairperson), Sinead Devitt, Adele Heslop, Suzanne Dolan, Marsha McCann, Aine Hickey, Eilish Hogge, Aisha McKenna, Sarah Barnicoat, Alex Keys and Kenny McInerney.  I would like to thank Barbara Kelly, Torunn Stoke Griffin and Laura Cramer for all their hard work with the committee over the last number of years.

The role of the PA is to support parents and to work with school management in the best interests of our children. We also run fundraisers to support the school. If you would like to join the committee or the volunteer list or have ideas for fundraising please get in contact with us at stcolmcillespaknocklyon@gmail.com   There is one PA which covers both the Junior and Senior schools.

I look forward to meeting you in the coming months at some of our events, either attending or volunteering.

Yours sincerely,

Lorraine Reynolds
